"Remus-with cornstalks and corn"

I am pleased to present Remus ...My Hand Hooked 3 dimensional Crow.

Our family has watched him all Winter as he cavorted with his friends in the cornfield at the end of the lane.  We have nicknamed him "Chubby" for obvious reasons. The whole flock of crows spent their time scavenging corn that the combine dropped. Remus would leave the others each afternoon and hang out at the dumpster behind the pizza shop.  He apparently did pretty well there! He is now hard at work on a nest in the pine trees behind the barn. ~~~~~ Remus has been hand rug hooked using all recycled wools in antique blacks that have been hand dyed by me.  He is my own copyrighted design. He has been hand sewn together and stuffed with wool snippets. His eyes are antique Victorian black glass enameled buttons! He has been mounted on an old Bed spring and is accompanied by cornstalks from the field at the end of the lane as well as a well picked, empty ear of corn. The spring gives a little movement to Remus and the Cornstalks. Also included is my hand made tag and a "key of happiness" tied to the piece with hand dyed, hand cut wool.

Remus is approximately 12 1/2" from beak tip to tail tip and he is a rotund 4" wide. The entire composition is about  11" wide and 20" tall.

This comes from my Cat-free, Dog-free, Smoke-free studio
